Are you our next director of maintenance or aircraft technical technical coordinator? And, do you like to travel?

We're in search of a team player who will organize, research and report on all the technical aspects of our brokerage and consulting projects.

In this full-time role, you will create aircraft specifications, provide input and oversight during pre-purchase inspections, interpret maintenance needs and conduct research.

You’ll also use your strong maintenance background to quickly and accurately report aircraft data—both internally to the sales team and externally to the client—in a clear and concise package.

This position will be based at our headquarters in Guilford, Connecticut.

Job title: Director of Maintenance or Technical Services Coordinator

Job Summary:

Directly support the Vice President of Technical Services as well as the entire sales, acquisition and consulting team by providing sound technical advice, research and insights.

Support will include: build specifications, travel to client and maintenance facilities, technical research, technical presentations, logbook and maintenance report reading I interpretation, customer service, and client interaction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor aircraft pre-buy projects including attending briefings and test flights
  • Perform on-site aircraft evaluations and in-depth records reviews
  • Develop work scopes for both aircraft we buy and/or sell
  • Build detailed specifications for use in the sales and marketing process
  • Build/maintain a maintenance/ tech related database/library of information for the 120+ models that we track
  • Evaluate an aircraft both technically and financially including the impact of maintenance/damage history, avionics upgrades, paint and refurbishment status and condition
  • Assist in fully understanding the aircraft we sell or intend to buy from a maintenance related and technical perspective
  • Must ask the appropriate technical questions to help the team achieve the answers to the questions at hand
  • The ability to take an issue and work with your network to solve a problem or answer a question
  • Ideal situation would be to be based in the home office in Guilford, Connecticut

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate
  • Experience working with turboprop and jet aircraft within the business aviation industry
  • Knowledge of all current and proposed regulatory requirements from various regulatory authorities
  • Proficient with CAMP, CMP, FlightDocs and other maintenance tracking software
  • Fluency in the various avionic platforms, trends and future regulatory mandates
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Technically competent - In-depth knowledge on how to read, interpret and report on findings within logbooks and other aircraft documents
  • Needs to be a strong communicator to so that the delivery of technical data is measured and presented depending on the intended audience
  • Excellent people skills - able to work closely with the internal team as well as interact with our clients
  • Must be comfortable working in a close-knit, team environment where attitude and work ethic matter
  • An abundance of energy and an inquisitive nature towards solving problems
  • Willingness to travel as needed, often on short notice and up to 100%

 

Desired Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of aircraft maintenance experience (for TSC level) in either a Part 91, 135 or 145 environment but knowledgeable of all
  • 15+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (for DOM level) including experience as a DOM, Chief Inspector or Maintenance Manager under either Part 91, 135 or 145 operations.
  • Preference to those who hold or have recently held an Inspection Authorization (IA)
