Guardian Jet Partners with RedTail Flight Academy at NBAA-BACE

GUILFORD, Conn. – October 12, 2021 –  

Guardian Jet (guardianjet.com), the  world’s largest aircraft brokerage, appraisals and consulting firm, is welcoming the newly launched RedTail Flight Academy (redtailflightacademy.org) to share a portion of its outdoor static display (A408) at the NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas, October 12-14. In doing so, Guardian Jet will set up “The RedTail Café” where BACE attendees, including corporate flight department leaders, can learn about the many benefits of becoming a RedTail Flight Academy Ambassador, and help build a pipeline of minority aviators attending the state-of-the-art flight school based in Windsor, New York.

Guardian Jet Managing Partner Don Dwyer—who is a board member and founding partner of the RedTail Flight Academy—said of his company’s partnership with the RFA, “Everyone in this industry knows that there is no better place than NBAA-BACE to strengthen your brand recognition in the aviation world. We’re really honored to spread the good word about the mission and vision of the RedTail Flight Academy as well as help raise the funds needed to pay for seven scholarships. In the end, we want to build a sustainable, scalable mentoring and training program that will continue to attract young minority men and women and help us diversify the field of aviation.”

Founded in 2020, on the principles set forth by the original Tuskegee Airmen, the RedTail Flight Academy is a world-class flight training and mentorship program that boasts an impressive team of aviation experts whose main focus is to help provide aviation career opportunities for young members of traditionally underserved communities. Among the RFA leadership’s many goals, they are determined to increase the percentage of minority aviators by offering fully paid scholarships to program cadets. The RFA’s mission is to raise $8 million to fund 30 students scholarships over the next 5 years.

Among the many leaders at the RedTail Flight Academy is Glendon Fraser, who is a retired Lt. Col with the United States Air Force. Fraser has also served in numerous, high-level roles for United Airlines, where he has accumulated more than 22,000 hours of global flight experience.

“We’re grateful to partners like Guardian Jet who want to give a new generation the opportunity to become aviators and build upon the strength of those who’ve gone before us nearly 80 years ago,” Glendon Fraser. “Our RFA ambassadors are critical to the success of our program, as not only will they help sponsor the scholarships, but they’ll be able to host educational workshops, volunteer programs and internships for our students,” he said.

Don Dwyer emphasized how important he feels it is to back RedTail Flight Academy’s goal of making flight training accessible to young, deserving, aspiring pilots. “In fact,” he said, “Guardian Jet is encouraging flight departments across the country to sign up for RedTail Flight Academy’s Ambassador Program, the goal of which is to help mentor and foster exceptional aviators of color.”

Dwyer explained that the Ambassador program donations range from $5,000 to $10,000, and that the proceeds will aid in developing minority aviators. “We want to ensure that these future pilots are effectively mentored and well-prepared to enter the industry pipeline with the required tools and talent,” he added. The program is also chartered to create post-graduate internship or apprenticeship programs within industry-related corporations and organizations. “RFA Ambassadors are critical in fulfilling the mission to diversify the aviation industry, and we want to be in the forefront of helping them,” Dwyer stated.
