Doc Dwyer Among First Group of Accredited Aircraft Brokers

June 12, 2019

The International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA), which recently moved toward full professional accreditation for aircraft dealer organizations, has qualified the first group of individual brokers for certification based on their aircraft transaction acumen.

Among the first group of accredited aircraft brokers is Guardian Jet’s Doc Dywer, who serves as secretary on the Board for IADA.

“This first group of 22 IADA certified aircraft brokers and the others to follow are clearly the best of the best and set the benchmark for knowledge, skill and ability of individual sales professionals within the constantly evolving aircraft transaction industry, where previously there were no clearly defined standards,” said IADA Executive Director Wayne Starling. “Joseph Allan Aviation Consulting, an objective independent third-party agency, is slated to test the next group of brokers for certification this fall.”

The newly certified IADA aircraft brokers are all part of IADA-accredited dealer organizations in representing buyers and sellers of business aircraft. A rigorous certification examination for brokers was developed and managed by Joseph Allan Aviation Consulting, which also developed the accreditation standards for aircraft dealers.

The broker examination measures the skills and competencies that are required of aircraft brokers in order to effectively conduct their work. Joseph Allan has considerable experience in curriculum development as well as the development and management of examinations measuring knowledge-based competencies.

IADA dealers and brokers do business in more than 100 countries and utilize AircraftExchange.com, an exclusive online marketplace listing only aircraft offered for sale or lease by IADA members. While only three percent of all aircraft dealer organizations merit IADA accreditation, they handle more than 50 percent of the used business jet transactions.

All IADA members agree to participate in a program of ongoing education to remain current on best practices and new developments in acquiring and selling business aircraft and abide by a strict code of ethics that guarantees they will always conduct themselves honorably and represent the best interests of their clients. IADA represents a variety of product and aviation services that also operate with the highest professional standards in the industry.

IADA is a professional trade association formed more than 25 years ago. Promoting the growth and public understanding of the aircraft resale industry, IADA now offers the world’s only accreditation program for dealers and the only certification program for individual brokers. The process delivers high standards of business conduct and transparency regarding aircraft transactions, leading to a more efficient and reliable marketplace.
